Stop Motion Animation

It is 2 a.m. Everybody is asleep. All of a sudden, a loud sound wakes up everyone. They all have to do what they can to get some peace and quiet.

This stop-motion, animated short film was made, as part of a course, by students of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, and one French exchange student.

Even with the unconventional, non-human characters in this short film, it was a stop motion production through and through. The triangle characters were made of flexible, metal wire frames, which were padded with thin foam and covered with cloth. They would be bent into whatever shape was needed. The makeshift clamps and double-sided tape that held them in place were removed in post production. The sets were relatively shallow with regard to the z- or camera-axis. The "moon" was a translucent white material stuck on to a frame and lit from behind.
